LG V30 Rumored to Feature Snapdragon 835 SoC & 6GB of RAM
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
In the next few days, LG will be launching its latest smartphone LG G6 at the Mobile World Congress event. At the same time, we will be seeing Huawei unveiling their Leica branded Huawei P10 and P10 Plus smartphones. Talking about the LG G6, the company is rumored to use the last-gen Snapdragon 821 SoC instead if the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. While the exact details aren’t yet known, we can expect it to be the delay in production which made the company opt for the Snapdragon 821 instead of keep waiting. On the other hand, the launch event of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus is now postponed to March, and these devices will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 and yet to be announced Exynos 9 processors.
Now, the latest leaks suggest LG V30 that will be launched in the second half of this year to come powered Snapdragon 835 SoC. It will be the successor to the LG V20 which came out with Snapdragon 821 SoC. The LG V20 is also the world’s first smartphone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. While the company will be skipping the removable battery features to make the LG G6 water and dust resistant, we hope at least the LG V30 to continue using the removable batteries. The secondary display is another feature that can be expected on the LG V30; it was first introduced with the LG V10. Recently, HTC also launched the premium HTC U Ultra smartphone with the secondary display.
The Snapdragon 835 SoC on the LG G6 will be accompanied by 6GB of RAM. Since the LG G6 is said to come with 4GB of RAM, then the LG v30 becomes the first LG device to feature 6GB RAM. Samsung already launched its 6GB RAM smartphone, Galaxy C9 Pro in India and China. The device will be sporting metal body and might use the almost bezel display that is also expected on the LG G6. Talking about the LG G6 specifications, it will be coming with a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) bezel-less display offering an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 821 SoC will be combined with 4GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.
It will be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with the in-house LG UX 6.0 UI laid on top. In the camera department, the device will be sporting dual 13MP sensors with 125-degree wide-angle view. On the front is an 8MP selfie rear camera that is mentioned to come with 135-degree wide-angle lens. Since the specifications of the LG V20 are based on the unknown sources, take them with a pinch of salt. As the LG G6 launch event is scheduled for February 26th, we can expect some sort of explanation from the company for not using the Snapdragon 835 SoC. Even Samsung, Sony, and Huawei will also unveil their latest devices on the same day. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
