Samsung’s Bixby Assistant can now be used for Banking services in South Korea

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Samsung‘s infamous Bixby Assistant is once again in the news. The last time we had reported about the company’s assistant was to inform about the delay in its U.S rollout of the voice feature. Apparently, it is having trouble understanding English. Meanwhile, it looks it now has learned a couple of new tricks which users in South Korea can use. Yes, the company has reportedly partnered with three major banks in South Korea, in order to enable customers to do some banking services.

South Korea seems to be the place where all Bixby is learning a lot of new tricks. The assistant’s voice feature is also available only there as of now. And now, the users in South Korea will be able to use some banking services using the Bixby assistant. According to the new reports which we have, the Galaxy S8 owners who have an account at Shinhan Bank, Woori Bank or KEB Hana Bank in South Korea will now be able to use Bixby to look up for some account details.

In fact, these users will also be able to make payments, etc. directly using the assistant. Additionally, the Woori Bank customers can even make currency exchanges using Bixby. This feature is apparently linked with Samsung Pay app and is secured using Samsung Pass. So whenever a user asks Bixby to send money to one of their contacts, then Bixby will pull up Samsung Pay app. The process will be seamless as the verification will be done using the Iris scanner.

This indeed is a great new addition considering the fact that the assistant is almost dead in most of the other countries. Also, this makes the whole process quite seamless as well. All these eligible users no longer have to launch their bank’s app and go through the entire process manually. All of it will be handled by Bixby manually. And now, the only thing which we need to see if this feature will make it to other countries as well or not with the voice support.

Well, if you want to be the first one to know if it does, then be sure to stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more updates on the same. Also, let us know what do you think about this. Do you think Samsung will bring this feature to other countries as well? Be sure to let us know by dropping a comment down below.
