You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Alcatel has announced three new smartphones in the US viz. the Alcatel Idol 5S, A50 & A30 Plus. All these devices are affordable Android smartphones running Android Nougat out of the box. These devices are available as Amazon Prime phones meaning that will show ads on the home screen. If you can put with that, then you can get them from a really good deal. However, if you are not okay with having random ads showing up on your home screen, then you can still purchase at an extra cost, making them a bit more expensive.
Alcatel Idol 5S
The new Alcatel Idol 5s is the successor to the last year’s Alcatel Idol 4. It stands out as a great mid-range smartphone with an Aluminium frame. On the front, there is a 5.2-inch FullHD display meaning that it has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It also has front-facing stereo speakers and a fingerprint scanner to unlock the smartphone. Internally, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, which has an octa-core processor and it is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 12MP rear-facing shooter, whereas on the front, there is an 8MP sensor. The entire package is kept powered by a 2620 mAh battery, which should be good enough to keep it powered for an entire day. It has been reported that, at the time of the launch, the smartphone will be compatible with GSM/ LTE carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. only at the time of the launch and you get it for $279.99 (Unlocked).
Alcatel A50
The Alcatel A50 is yet another entry to a mid-range smartphone that the company has launched along with the Idol 5S. This one is also running on Android Nougat just like the other two and this one also has a decent set of specs. On the front, there is a 5.2-inch HD display, meaning that it has a resolution of 1280 x 720. Internally, this one is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MTK6738 processor which is clocked at 1.5 GHz. It is also coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 13MP rear-facing camera, whereas on the front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter as well. The entire package is kept powered by a 2,800 mAh battery.
One of the interesting thing about this smartphone is that it supports a lot of snap-on accessories. They are called SNAPBAK and the company is offering a bunch of them. This smartphone is priced at $149.99 (Unlocked).
Alcatel A30 Plus
This smartphone is essentially a larger variant of the A30 that was launched previously. It sports a 5.5″ display on the front which has a resolution of 1280 x 720. It is powered by a beefy 3,000 mAh battery, but other than that, it resembles the Alcatel A50 in terms of the specs. Do make a note that this won’t support those add-on mods and this is priced at $129.99. Let us know your thoughts on this smartphone.
