Google Pixel Successors Said To Be Powered By Snapdragon 835 SoC & 4GB RAM
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Google is expected to launch the successors to the last year’s Pixel and the Pixel XL later this year. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding these two smartphones i.e the Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL 2. As of now, we have been hearing a few rumors and none of them gave us a firm info as to what to expect from these two devices, however, now we do have some new reports which us a complete look at the specs sheet of these two devices.
Do make a note that these specs which we have right now are not confirmed and hence we suggest you take them with a grain of salt. According to the source, the smartphone codenamed “Taimen” is going to be the successor to the Pixel XL with a larger 5.99-inch screen. It looks like we will have smaller bezels this time around to go with the current trend. The source also states this 5.99-inch display will be a 1440p OLED panel from LG. Internally, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and 4GB RAM. As far as the storage configurations go, it looks like we could be multiple storage options with the maximum being 128GB. The build quality is expected to the same i.e the same glass and metal back. And so far from what we have heard, it doesn’t look like Google is ready to jump into the whole Dual camera race.
Now, as far as the smaller variant i.e. the Pixel 2 is concerned, it looks like it will look identical to the last year’s 5-inch Pixel smartphone. Hence, don’t expect this one to have smaller bezels and in fact, it has been reported that the bezels on this one will be put to a good use as the company is planning to throw in a pair of front-firing speakers. Apparently, the headphone jack is also going to be missing from this variant. So that is something that you are looking for then you have to opt for the bigger variant. The Pixel 2 is expected to sport a 4.97-inch FHD display on the front and the specs sheet suggests that rest of the hardware is going to be identical to the one found on the larger variant.
As mentioned earlier, none of this has been officially confirmed by the company and hence we suggest you take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned for more info.
