Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 Leaked with 12MP Dual Rear Cameras & 16MP Selfie Camera
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Last year, Xiaomi launched a new smartphone under the affordable Redmi series called Redmi Pro. It came with an all metal body and featured dual camera setup on the rear. At the time of its launch, the Redmi Pro is also the costliest Redmi device. The Redmi Pro is also the first Xiaomi smartphone to feature AMOLED display panel. However, the company has restricted the sales of Redmi Pro only to the Chinese market. While the Redmi Pro 2 has been in leaks, the latest leak reveals the key specifications of the device.
As seen on its predecessor, the Redmi Pro 2 also comes with the dual-lens camera on the rear. It features a 12MP Sony IMX362 primary sensor along with 5MP Samsung S5K4E8 secondary sensor for capturing images with DSLR-like Bokeh effects. We don’t think the company will be able to offer 2X lossless zoom on this device. Talking about the other specifications, the device sports a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LCD display instead of an AMOLED display as seen on its predecessor.
The front camera on the Redmi Pro 2 is upgraded from a mere 5MP sensor to a whopping 16MP sensor. It packs 3GB of RAM and should be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI. The earlier leaks suggested the device will feature the newly announced Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor sporting the custom Kryo cores. We might also see unibody metal design along with a bigger battery and dual SIM support. Last year’s Redmi Pro with 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display came in two variants powered by MediaTek Helio X20 and Helio X25 processors.
It is backed by a 4,050mAh non-removable battery and supported 10W fast charging using the USB Type-C port. Take these details with a pinch of salt and wait for the launch day for the official details. While the company is reportedly skipping the Xiaomi Mi 6 launch in India, we at least hope the Redmi Pro 2 with dual camera setup will be made available here. Xiaomi has seen huge success with the Redmi devices from the last couple of years and made record sales even though it has majority sales from the online channels. Stay tuned on Phoneradar for more details about this upcoming device.
