LG To Ditch Secondary Display On V30 Smartphone In Favour Of An 18:9 OLED Panel
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
LG is expected to launch the new V30 smartphone in a couple of months. So far, we have seen a couple of rumors about it and judging by the looks of it, the V30 is certainly shaping up to be a great device. However, we have some new report about this smartphone which claims that LG might skip the secondary display on the V30, in favor of an 18:9 aspect ratio OLED panel, just like the one found on the LG G6 smartphone.
According to the source, LG is going to remove the secondary display on the V30 and instead go for a tall 18:9 aspect ratio display like the one found on the LG G6. This essentially would allow the smartphone to show all the necessary info within the main panel itself, instead of having to put a separate one on top. Essentially, the secondary display on the LG V10 and the V20, both of them were implemented in order to show shortcuts, notifications, etc. at a glance so that a user can have them ready to go whenever they wanted.
However, having a tall OLED panel, as mentioned earlier, would allow it to display everything within the main panel itself, making things a lot easier. This would also give an option to the user to disable it if they wish to. However, with all that being said, it is worth noting that this is is just a rumor and not officially confirmed by LG. Hence we suggest you take this with a grain of salt.
As far as the other specs of the smartphone are concerned, it is expected that it will pack a Snapdragon 835 SoC. The company missed out on this for the LG G6 and hence it is highly expected that it will be powered by it. It is also expected that it will pack more RAM, in order to match with some of the other competitions out there like the Galaxy S8 Plus and OnePlus 5, etc. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this.
