Best 4G Smartphones in India Above Rs 15,000 – July 2017

After disrupting the Sub-Rs. 10,000 price segment, the Chinese smartphone manufacturers are now more focusing at a slightly higher price bracket. We have a few devices launched in the month of May and interestingly, most of the devices are also sold through the offline market. All the below-mentioned devices support 4G VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and can be used with the Jio 4G SIM.

Nubia Z17 Mini – Rs. 19,999

Nubia Z17 and Nubia Z17 Mini are the latest smartphones from Nubia. While both the devices are now officially launched in China, the Nubia Z17 Mini was made available here in India as well. It is priced at Rs. 19,999 and is sold exclusively via Amazon India. The Nubia Z17 Mini is the first device in the Nubia Mini series to feature dual camera setup. It sports 13MP IMX258 RGB sensor and a 13MP IMX258 Monochrome sensor on the rear with Sapphire glass lens and f/2.2 aperture. Talking about the other specifications, it sports a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 0180 pixels) display which comes protected by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. The variant launched in India comes with Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera with 80-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The device still runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Nubia UI 4.0 on top. It is backed by a 2,950mAh non-removable battery and support dual SIM dual standby.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Max – Rs. 17,900

Instead of launching the Galaxy J 2017 devices, Samsung India came up with the Galaxy J7 Max for the Indian market. The metal built comes with a physical home button on the front which also features a fingerprint sensor. It sports a 5.7-inch TFT display and offers Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6757 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. It comes coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is a 13MP shooter on the rear and another 13MP shooter on the front for selfies. Both the cameras feature LED flash for capturing better low-light photos. The rear camera on this device comes with SmartGlow ring which also acts as a notification LED. It is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery and offers dual SIM dual standby support. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the TouchWiz UI on top. With all these specifications, the device costs Rs. 17,900 and will be available in Gold and Black color options.

Gionee A1 Virat Kohli Signature Edition – Rs. 19,999

While we all expecting Gionee to launch the Gionee A1 Lite and A1 Plus smartphones in India, the company came up with an upgraded variant of the Gionee A1 called as Gionee A1 Virat Kohli Signature Edition. The device costs Rs. 19,999 and will be sold through Amazon India. The customers who pre-book the device will get a Sennheiser headphone for free. Apart from the Virat Kohli’s signature on the rear, there is no other difference between the earlier launched variant and this new variant. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and packs year’s old MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor. The device also comes with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to additional 256GB. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based Amigo UI 4.0 out of the box. On the rear is a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor with dual tone LED flash. For selfies, the Gionee A1 comes with a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. It is backed by a 4,010mAh battery that is said to last up to 400 hours on standby mode.

Vivo V5S – Rs. 18,990

Vivo V5S is the latest smartphone from one of the fastest-growing smartphone brands, Vivo. Apart from minor changes, the Vivo V5S is the same Vivo V5 that was launched earlier this year. It is priced at Rs. 18,990 and comes in Crown Gold and Matte Black color options. The new V5S comes with 64GB of onboard storage which is doubled than the what offered with the Vivo V5. It comes with a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor. The 4GB of RAM on this device should handle most of the usage and even the graphic intensive games. On the front of this device is a 20MP selfie camera with a f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The primary camera on the rear sports a 13MP sensor with PDAF and LED flash. The company is also offering AK4376 audio chip for Hi-Fi audio output. The device supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for a MicroSD card instead of the secondary SIM. It measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.55 mm and weighs 154 grams.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro – Rs. 20,900

The Galaxy J7 Pro is actually the Galaxy J7 2017 that was already launched in few Western markets. At Rs. 20,900, the Galaxy J7 Pro justifies that few extra bucks with slightly better features. It comes with 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The Galaxy J7 Pro is powered by the in-house Exynos 7870 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz and comes coupled with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. On the camera front, there is a 13MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and another 13MP camera on the front with f/1.9 aperture. With the 3,600mAh non-removable battery, the device should easily till the end of the day. Connectivity options include Cat.6 LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and a USB Type-C Port. The device also supports Samsung Pay for using your smartphone instead of the physical card at the payment terminals. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and comes with India centric features like Ultra Data Saving, Ultra Power Saving, and S-bike modes.
