Google’s New Triangle App Helps You Save More Mobile Data

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Google‘s new Android app called Triangle is currently being tested in the Philippines. From what we have heard, the app is straightforward and it lets you do things like monitoring your data balance, monitor the apps which use the most amount of data, etc. In fact, one of the most useful features which it has is that it lets you block you individual apps from using the mobile data. This features, in particular, is going to come in handy in certain places where still data usage is an issue due to FUPs.

Especially in countries like India, where data usage has to be closely monitored due to FUP limits, this app can come really handy, to keep track of which app is using more data. It has been reported that with the help of this app, Google is experimenting new ways to cut down the mobile data usage. The company aims to do that by allowing users to take control. With this app, users will now have more granular control over how the data is being used. It is expected that this app will help users save a lot more data this way.

As far as the user experience of the app is concerned, the app allows users to change different saving modes. It offers different options to save data by letting the users choose between options like 10 minutes at a time, 30 minutes or “Always.” All these options are pretty self-explanatory. And as far as the future plans for this app go, the company has not officially spoken yet. Hence we are not sure as to when the app will make its way to other emerging markets. However, it is expected that it will soon hit other emerging markets like India, etc. very soon.

Having said that, this is certainly not the first time that Google has implemented ways to help users save some mobile data. If you have been following the news, then you might already know that even Google Chrome was updated with a feature to help users, save more data. Let us know if this is something that you would you be interested in using if it ever makes its way to India.
