Motorola Showcased Six New Moto Mods in Ghana, May Launch Soon In Other Markets
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Motorola introduced the concept of Moto Mods two years back along with the new Moto Z Series of smartphones. At the time of the announcement, the company had promised that they will keep launching new Moto Mods and keep the idea of Moto Mods fresh to the consumers. And well, keeping up to that promise, the company unveiled a couple of new mods in Ghana a few days ago. It is not entirely known when will the company launch these in other markets, however, it is expected that it will arrive in other markets, sooner or later.
The six new Moto mods that were announced include Moto 360 Camera Mod, ROKR mod, Studio mod, DirecTV mod, DSLR mod, Action mod. Coming to specifics of each, the Moto 360 Mod, as the name suggests is a mod with a 360-degree camera. The use case scenario is pretty obvious as it will allow users to record 360-degree video whenever they want, without having to use any other camera separately. The next one in the list is the ROKR mod. If you are an old Motorola fan, then the name ROKR might be familiar. Motorola had a line of smartphones named ROKR that were known to have a lot of audio enhancements. So expect this one to be some sort of a speaker mod just like the JBL sound boost or even better. Next one is the Studio Mod, which looks a mod that can be used to record music, etc. as it has a microphone sticking out from the top. This certainly looks like an interesting Mod and a lot of people keep put it to some good use.
The next one is called the DirectTV Mod and it looks like an interesting idea after all. It allows an HDMI DirecTV streaming stick to be plugged into your phone. This will enable the DTV subscribers to stream live TV while they’re on the go. Considering the fact that DirecTV is only in America, it looks like we won’t be seeing this one being launched anywhere else. The DSLR Mod, just like the name suggests puts a DSLR camera on the back of your phone. Well, no exactly, but it will allow you to attach real DSLR lenses to your phone which is far better than buying the Hasselblad mod, which is unapologetically expensive. However, we will have to wait and see how this one will work.
The last one in the list is called the Action Mod. As of now, it is not exactly known as to what this mod will do, however, looking at the images, it looks like it will turn your phone into a GoPro-like action camera that will help you record some smooth footage. Having said that, be sure to let us know which one is your favorite mod out of the bunch.
