Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Package Leaked Online, Probably Fake

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

After the huge success of the Redmi Note 3 smartphone, Xiaomi came up with the Redmi Note 4 featuring even better hardware. The sales of the Redmi Note 4 along with the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A also boosted the market share of Xiaomi in the first quarter of 2017. Based on the number of shipments, it is the second largest smartphone brand in India standing next to Samsung. Recently, we are also hearing few leaks about the upcoming Redmi Note 5. It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 630 SoC that uses the custom Kryo cores. Now, a photo of the Redmi Note 5A box is surfacing on Weibo.

Earlier, the company launched the Redmi 4A as the most affordable device in the Redmi series. The upcoming Redmi Note 5A might be the affordable variant of the Redmi Note 5. Compared to the earlier packing of the Xiaomi smartphones, the new packaging looks totally different. Since the Redmi word is missing on the package, we expect this to be fake. However, we can confirm the authenticity of this news only after the official confirmation. Talking about the specifications of the Redmi Note 5A, the device will be running on the latest MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

It might continue to feature the same 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display as seen on the Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4. On the rear, we will be seeing dual camera setup featuring 13MP + 12MP sensors. To be precise, the Redmi Note 5A sports a12MP OV12A10 sensor and a 13MP OV13880 sensor. FYI, the Redmi Pro launched last year in China is the company’s first dual camera smartphone and if this news comes out true, then the Redmi Note 5A becomes the second dual camera smartphone in the Redmi series.

Looking at the selfie craze, Xiaomi might upgrade the front camera on the Redmi Note 5 to 16MP sensor. Few leaks mentioned it to be backed by a 3,790mAh battery that will at least come with 10W fast charging. Under the hood, the device houses the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The device will be available in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB storage options. As said earlier, take these details with a pinch of salt until there is an official confirmation from the company.
