Samsung’s Gear VR Headset to support Xbox Controller for all the existing & future games
Earlier, Microsoft announced that the company would be bringing the Xbox Wireless tech to PCs and gaming accessories. On the same lines, one of the accessory to get the Xbox controller support is the Samsung‘s Gear VR Headset. Yes, you read that right, Xbox controller will soon work with Samsung’s phone-driven virtual reality device. This will put a smile on many users’ faces as this was much awaited.
According to the company, the first game to take advantage of this will be Minecraft: Gear VR Edition. The update for the same is scheduled to come in early October. Over the course of time, all users will be able to use the controller on any Gear VR title without any issues. As of now the Minecraft: Gear VR Edition is already available but it will not support the controller as an upcoming update which is scheduled for next month will enable the support. Users also have to make sure that the controller is updated to the latest firmware update. The requirement for the same includes a Bluetooth-supported Xbox controller and the latest firmware i.e. version 3.1.1220.0.

So once the game update hits the game, all you need to do is update the game to the latest version and make sure that your controller is also updated to the latest firmware and you are good to go. And as mentioned earlier, the company also stated that they are working to bring the Xbox controller support to both existing and future Gear VR games and also promised that they would be giving out more details in coming months. This is a pretty neat move by the company as this will allow users to enjoy the games just as they would be playing on a console. Let’s hope that this interests users to adapt to the Gear VR. Stay tuned for more info on this.
