Vivo is one of the fasting growing smartphone brand in 2016. Along with OPPO, Vivo also listed in the top 5 smartphone manufacturers list for the first time in Q1 2016. While Vivo is the world’s first smartphone manufacturer to launch 6GB RAM smartphone, most of its recent high-end devices are only limited to China. Unlike most of its Chinese counterparts, the company has a good offline presence even outside their home country. Now the company might launch the Vivo Y55 smartphone as the successor to Vivo Y51.

Total three variants of the Vivo Y55 are listed on TENAA – The Vivo Y55, Vivo Y55L, and Vivo Y55N. Though all these devices come with same specifications, we expect the Y55L and Y55N to be sold exclusively with Chinese network carriers, whereas the Y55 variant will support all the networks. Talking about the device, the Vivo Y55 sports an all metal body which is a decent upgrade considering the Y51 came with a polycarbonate body.

It sports a 5.2-inch TFT display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an unknown octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto 128GB via provided MicroSD card slot. There is an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. It supports dual SIM with the hybrid SIM slot, where the users can choose between a secondary SIM and a MicroSD card.

The device is backed by a 2,650mAh non-removable battery that might not give more than a day of usage. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Micro USB 2.0 port. It measures 147.9 x 72.9 x 7.5 mm and weighs 142 grams. According to the TENAA listing, the device will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Gray color options. A couple of weeks back,  the company also launched the new Black color variant of the high-end Vivo X7 that comes with a glossy finish similar to the Jet Black variant of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
