TCL 950 with Snapdragon 820 SoC & 4GB RAM to Launch on September 28th
TCL, the parent company of the popular Alcatel brand also sells smartphones under its own name. Recently the company also launched two new budget smartphones TCL 560 and TCL 562 priced at Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 10,990 respectively. Today the company officially announced to launch its new flagship smartphone TCL 950 on September 28th in China. We already got the first look and important specifications from the TENAA listing.
Blackberry DTEK60 which was leaked earlier is said to be rebranded version of TCL 950. While the DTEK60 is mentioned to come with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display, the TCL 950 is limited to just Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It has a circular power button and the volume rocker on the right edge, while the SIM card slot and one more additional button can be seen on left edge of the device.
The device comes with glass on front and back while the metal frame around it adds additional strength. It comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz and coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded additionally upto 128GB.
It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with a customized skin laid on top. There is information about the cameras, but we are expecting the device to offer 21MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0. There are dual stereo speakers on this device that takes care of audio part. On the rear, we can also find the fingerprint sensor which can be used as shutter button in the camera app.
The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE and VoLTE. The TCL 950 measures 153.9 x 75.4 x 6.99 mm and weighs 165 grams.
