GizmoTab Android Tablet with 8″ Display Launched for Kids at $250

With the growing internet penetration, everyone has some sort out of a smart device to accessing it. Even Kids are not exempted from this, and many brands had already launched Kids-centric devices. Now, the U.S based wireless carrier, Verizon launched a new Android powered tablet specially for Kids. It is available for a time fee of $250 or can choose a two contract costing $10.41/month. The device comes in Midnight Blue color and will be shipped by December 12th. As seen with earlier launched Kids tablets, the GizmoTab also sports a removable thick rubber bumper around it.

It sports an 8-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution on the front. Verizon is also offering exclusive Kids content including 300 learning apps. All these apps are grouped into seven different categories which Verizon calls Islands.The apps include Play-Doh ABCs, Operation Math Code Squad, and Nat Geo Puzzle Explorer. With the Parent Dashboard, the parent can know about the Kid’s usage time, progress, and can also enable or disable access to a certain app. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with customized UI on top.

The tablet comes powered by a Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with an Adreno 405 GPU and whooping 3GB of RAM. It has a built-in storage of 16GB which can be further expanded upto 128GB using the MicroSD card slot. It is backed by a 5,100mAh that can easily last a day of usage even with a heavy usage. According to the company, the device can last up to 14 days on standby mode. The device also supports 4G LTE along with other basic connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.

Talking about the cameras, there is an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. With all these powerful specifications, which we don’t see even on regular tablets can offer a seamless experience for the Kids. Verizon is also selling the tablet case with a stylus that comes in six different bright colors for $35. It has a handle that also acts as a kickstand when placed upside down. The stylus helps the Kids for making writing or drawing easier than with fingers. Few year’s, back even Samsung exclusively launched the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids just of Kids.

As seen on the GizmoTab, it also came with thick bumper protecting it from drops. The company also introduced an exclusive Kids store that includes all the apps made for Kids. However, there is no upgraded version launched by Samsung till date. All the Galaxy devices now come with Kids mode, where it comes fewer settings and totally different UI suitable for Kids.
