Huawei to rollout Android 7.0 Nougat update starting Q1 2017 for selected Smartphones

The Chinese multinational company Huawei has announced that it will be rolling the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update to its list of smartphones. Last month the company also introduced the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro flagship devices with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with Emotion UI 5.0. The update for few more device will start from the first quarter of 2017 while the last year flagship model Huawei Mate 8 along with Huawei P9 will be among the first to get this update.
The official list of smartphones that are going to get the update are Huawei Mate 8, Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei P9 lite, Nova Huawei, Huawei Nova Plus. Nothing was mentioned about the other devices which are likely to get. Huawei might be planning to roll out the update to rest of the devices after the first quarter.
The new EMUI will also be pushed with Nougat update and regarding the same Huawei said that The new EMUI 5.0 along with Android 7.0 offers ease of use, improved efficiency and safety. With EMUI 5.0 user can activate 90% of the main functions in just two or three clicks. Moreover, thanks to “Machine Learning”, EMUI 5.0 is can dynamically optimize the most frequently used resources. It is also possible to manage the consumption of your device’s battery with greater ease and efficiency via the new intelligent system power management. Finally, EMUI 5.0 comes with enhanced security features, such as App Lock, which allows the user to ensure the highest safety levels for specific applications.
Recently, Huawei has launched the affordable smartphone in the premium Mate series called as Mate 9 Lite later the same device was launched in different regions with different names. There is a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution on the Mate 9. Under the hood, there is a Kirin 655 octa-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz and coupled with 3GB of RAM and Mali T830 GPU. There is a 32GB of internal storage and is also equipped with a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to a maximum of 128GB.
