After Allo messenger application which includes a virtual assistant that came with features like the smart reply, Google has now come up with a new application called as Trusted Contacts. With this new application, the users can now travel alone in the dark or go around the city without having to inform about your location every time. The application will share the location of the user with their loved once in case of an emergency as well as in normal situation even if the phone is offline.
This Trusted Contacts application can be downloaded from the Google play and is now only available for Android users. Once the applications are downloaded and installed on the Android device, the user can assign a “Trusted” status to any contact that you want to see your activity status. You can share your location with these contacts once you feel you are lost or even if in any emergency situation.
The selected contacts can also request to see your location; you can either deny the request or send the location but if you are not able to respond within the given time frame, the location is shared automatically, and the loved once can determine your location and respond accordingly to help you. You also have the option of stop sharing the location or even change the trusted contacts whenever needed.
This Trusted contacts application also works if you are offline, it will be sending the last location that has been updated when you were online. It is similar to how the SOS buttons that are used on many handsets these days.
