Sony Xperia XA 2017 Leaked in 3D Renders, Still Lacks the Fingerprint Sensor
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
During the MWC 2016, Sony unveiled the new X series by launching the Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia X Performance smartphones. At the IFA 2016, the company came up with the Xperia X Compact and the new flagship smartphone Xperia XZ. Earlier today, we also reported about the possible launch of two new smartphones at the upcoming CES 2017. While there is no confirmation from the company, those two devices are said to come with model numbers G3121 and G3112. Now, the reliable leakster Onleaks came up with a 3D rendering video of a new smartphone which is said to be the successor to the Xperia XA.
Though there is no confirmation, we expect the device to be named as Xperia XA 2017. It comes with almost same design as its successor. Sony is still using the flap for inserting the SIM card and probably the MicroSD card as well. It can be found the left edge of the device while the power button, volume rocker, and a dedicated shutter button are placed on the right edge. One visible change on the upcoming Xperia XA 2017 is that the volume rocker is now placed above the power button. Now the user can easily reach them even while using the device with a single hand.
The device comes with an all metal body featuring a 2.5D glass on the front. Even the company has already announced the time and date for their press conference at the IFA 2016. As the event will be held on January 4th, we guess the Xperia XA 2017 to be launched on that same day. It is said to feature 5-inch display as on its successor, and we hope the company offers Full HD resolution instead of just HD resolution as on its predecessor. The device is said to measure 145 x 66.8 x 7.99 which is almost close the dimensions of Xperia XA. As seen on its predecessor, the new Xperia XA 2017 also lacks the fingerprint sensor.
With the Xperia XZ, Sony shifted from using the MicroUSB port to USB Type-C port. Now, the upcoming Xperia XA 2017 is also mentioned to feature the USB Type-C port. The 2016 launched Xperia XA came with a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It includes 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. At that time, the device came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but now the Xperia XA 2017 can be expected to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details as the expected launch date is just a few weeks away.
