Switching from Postpaid to Prepaid in India makes Sense based on these Plan Comparisons
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
The launch of Reliance Jio has started a new telecom war in the nation. Each and every telecom service provider is coming up a new plan to get the upper hand over Jio, which seems to be the best amongst all. Reliance Jio is offering 1GB of data every single day for a month with just 303 INR, and this is the plan which most of the telecom operators are going after. If you wish to know which telecom operator is giving the most value for money, then be sure to check out our article on the comparison to know more on that.
With that said, getting a new postpaid plan seems like a really foolish thing to do unless you have a lot of money and you just want the telecom operators to have it. Yes, postpaid plans have been more beneficial than prepaid previously, but now talking about keeping current scenario in mind, getting a prepaid connection makes a lot of sense any day of the week. If you are wondering why then here is something that you should know.
Prepaid Vs Postpaid
For the sake of this comparison, let us consider Airtel‘s prepaid vs. postpaid plans that are now available in the market. Talking about Airtel Prepaid, we just got a couple of new tariffs from the company both of them are far better than Postpaid offerings from the same company. If you wish to know more about these two new tariff offered by Airtel, then head over to the article in which we have given details on the same and have compared them to Jio’s offering.

With the new 349 INR plan, Airtel is giving away 1GB of data on a daily basis which is not a bad deal after all. Yes, it is definitely not as good as Jio’s plan but is still a good offering if you wish to stay loyal to Airtel and like their service better. If you want a better idea about the new plans offered, then check out the image given below to understand things better.
Now for comparison, let’s shed some light on the postpaid plans offered by Airtel. The 499 INR monthly plan from Airtel only gives 3GB of data collectively for the month. This number is insanely less comparing what the prepaid plans are offering. If you wish to get some decent amount of data (something close to 20GB/ month), then your only option is to go for the 1999 INR plan which will fetch you 22GB of data. Again, 22GB data is still very less in comparison to what we are getting with 349 INR plan. If not, then you have no other option but to go for 2999 INR plan which will give you 40GB of data. Well, trouble finding the right plan for you? Check out the postpaid plans given below for yourself to see what is going on here.
That comparison pretty much sums up the whole story more or less. We are not getting into much details on voice calls since most of the telecom operators are going for free voice call approach with their respective plans. And as a matter of fact, even postpaid users stay unaffected with this and hence it leaves us with data plan comparisons only. And after the comparison which we just saw, it is pretty much clear as to what one should get right now. On the other hand, postpaid plans have their own little neat advantages as well like free SMS and some free subscription to a music service, etc. Also, we have just compared Airtel’s scenario whereas the situation is more or less the same when it comes to other telecom operators as well.
It is surprising to see how things changed drastically over the course of last 6-7 months. Earlier postpaid plan used to get way more importance due to the number of advantages that it had over prepaid plans. But now the difference seems to be non-existent in fact, you are getting a much higher value for your money with Prepaid than what you would get on postpaid plans. With that short little comparison out of the way, do let us know what do you think about this as we would love to know what you are using.
