Airtel’s New Infinity 499, 799 Plans continue Charging you at Rs 4,000 / GB

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Reliance Jio has already announced a bunch of tariff plans for its users, and we have done a couple of comparisons previously. The company is offering 149 INR plan as well as 303 INR plan, and both of them looks promising for the price. And talking about the competition, Airtel has been quite aggressive lately with their plans, and now they have added yet another promotional offer for their postpaid customers. Now the company is adding 30GB for three months, which comes down to about 10GB data per month.

As you can see from the image below, these plans are priced at 499 INR and 799 INR per month, and by default you only get 3GB and 6GB of data upfront without any offer. This is nowhere close to what Jio is offering with it’s 303 INR plan where we get 30GB per month. Well, to make things look a little better, Airtel is now throwing in an additional 30GB data for three months collectively. Now do make a note here that you will not get 30GB every month, but this 30GB is for three months and hence it only comes down to about 10GB per month.

While 10GB per month seems like a good option on paper since it is coming from Airtel, but again this doesn’t stand a chance against Jio’s tariff plan. In fact, if you go for the 499 INR plan with Jio, you get 60GB of data per month which is a steal. And as we already discussed in our previous article, Airtel is charging absurd amounts of money for 1GB of data, and it holds true here in this case as well. You can check out our previous article, where we discussed briefly on how other telecom operators are charging upto RS. 10,000/ GB.

And this is not the first time that Airtel is charging so much per GB of data. As you can see from the image below, these prepaid plans from Airtel also show us something similar.
