AppleCare+ purchase window for iPhone is now extended from 60 days to 1 year in the U.S
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Apple‘s AppleCare+ is one of service which you can buy from Apple, which extends the repair coverage of your iPhones to two years from the original purchase date of your smartphone. Apart from that, it also adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage in which each service is subject to a service fee of $29 for screen damage, or $99 for any other damage. And yes, you also get 24/ 7 priority access to Apple’s customer support. If you are an Apple customer, then you probably already know this that anyone buying an iPhone had a purchase window of 60 days to get this. However, now it looks like we have more time.
According to a new report which we have, it looks like Apple has now extended the purchase window of this AppleCare+ from 60 days to 365 days which is 1 whole year from the date of purchase. As mentioned by the source, you can see in the image below that an iPhone which was purchased back in November 2016 is still eligible for AppleCare+, which would not have been the case under the previous conditions. The coverage now is said to expire on November 2017 and there is a notice which says “Eligible for AppleCare+” and also a link from where you can learn more details and buy it.

However, it has been reported that this is applicable only for iPhones. Other Apple products like iPad or the Apple Watch doesn’t seem to work with this. This, however, could change in near future as well. It is also worth noting that this option doesn’t seem to be available in any other countries other than the U.S. This could again very well change in future but this is what we have as of now. As noted by the source, once you tap on this link, it takes you to the page from where you can buy the AppleCare+ service.
If you don’t know how the service works, before the purchase of the AppleCare+, an inspection of the device is required and you need to take the device to the Apple retail store for the same. Alternatively, you can also do the remote diagnostics for the same. Talking about the pricing, the AppleCare+ for iPhone 6s/6s Plus and iPhone 7/7 Plus is $129 and for iPhone SE, it is comparatively less, costing only $99. With that said, be sure to let us know what do you think about this and also stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more updates like this.
