Coolpad Note 5 Lite Smartphone with Metal Body & 3GB RAM Launched at Rs. 8,199

Last year, Coolpad launched Note 5 as the successor to the popular Coolpad Note 3. It came with a metal built body sporting a 2.5D 5.5-inch Full HD display on the front. At that time, it is the most affordable smartphone to offer 4GB of RAM. Today, the company launched Coolpad Note 5 Lite which looks similar to the Coolpad Note 5. It’s the same Coolpad Conjr which was launched at the CES 2017 held in Las Vegas in January. It features slightly less powerful specifications but offers the same build quality as on the earlier launched variant. The device is priced at Rs. 8,199 and will be sold exclusively through Amazon India.

It comes with a smaller 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 729 pixels) resolution and has a 2.5D curved glass on the top. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735CP quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz and comes coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to another 64GB. Coming to the cameras, there is a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF on the rear. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera with an aperture fo f/2.2. Both the cameras are accompanied with LED flash.

The Note 5 Lite also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Cool UI 8.0 out of the box. The 2,500mAh non-removable battery might give at least a day long battery life. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. On the rear, we can find the fingerprint sensor on the top and a loudspeaker on the bottom. The device will be available starting tomorrow in Gold and Grey color options.
