LG announces the new X500 Smartphone with 5″ HD Display & 4,500 mAh battery in Korea
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
LG is one of those manufacturers that launches a bunch of smartphones a year rather than just sticking to a premium flagship model. On the same lines, the company has now announced a new smartphone. Well, this, apparently, is not a new smartphone, it is just the Korean variant of the previously launched LG X Power 2. If you have been following the news lately, then you already know that this was launched by the company at MWC 2017. However, we do have a few minor changes here and there, as far as the specs are concerned.
This new variant dubbed the LG X500 looks identical to the LG XPower 2. It sports a 5″ display on the front which is an HD display, which means that it has a resolution of 1280 x 720. Internally, this smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor. This is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The LG X Power 2 on the hand had a 16GB of internal storage. Do make a note that this storage is also expandable upto 2TB via a microSD card.
Luckily the new LG X500 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat software out of the box. This is really neat since even some of the premium smartphones are yet to receive the update. In terms of the camera, the LG X500 has a 13MP rear-facing camera along with a LED Flash. On the front, there is a 5MP front-facing shooter as well. The front facing shooter has a soft LED flash.
One of the most interesting features of this smartphone is that it is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery. Although this is a non-removable battery, it comes with fast charging technology and it should be enough o keep the smartphone powered for a couple of days considering that it doesn’t have power hungry internals. Some of the other connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG, etc.
The smartphone measures 154.7 x 78.1 x 8.4mm in dimensions and weighs 164 grams. As you might have already noted, the only difference between this new one and the XPower 2 is that this one comes with 32GB of internal memory as compared to 16GB on the X Power 2. We also 2GB of RAM this time which is a slight upgrade from the 1.5GB RAM on the XPower 2. Now talking about the pricing and availability, the LG X500 will be available starting June 9th in Korea. If you are interested in buying this, it will cost you 319,000 Korean won which roughly translates to about 18,000 INR.
Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Would you be interested in buying this slightly upgraded LG X500 smartphone? Be sure to let us know what do you think by dropping a comment down below and also, stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more info like this.
