Nokia 9 with Quad HD Display & Snapdragon 835 SoC Spotted on Antutu
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Nokia is long rumored to launch a premium smartphone with dual camera setup and Qualcomm’s flagship processor, Snapdragon 835. These rumors have been surfacing even before HMD Global launched the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 smartphones at the MWC 2017. A week back, the images of a prototype device are leaked on the internet, and it is expected to be the upcoming Nokia 9. Now, Antutu has posted the key specifications of the Nokia device with the model number TA-1004. Last month, the same TA-1004 device spotted on GeekBench. Looking at the specifications, we expect this to be the upcoming Nokia 9 smartphone.
It comes with a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution display, but the screen size of the device is not known. The device comes powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC built on the 10nm FinFET process and comes coupled with the Adreno 540 GPU. The Geekbench listing showed the processor underclocked at 1.9GHz. As of now, only the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Xiaomi Mi 6 are the two Snapdragon 835 powered smartphones that are on sale. The Sont Xperia XZ Premium and the Nubia Z17 also includes the same Snapdragon 835 SoC, but they are just available to pre-order.
The Nokia 9 even packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. There is no information about the presence of MicroSD card on this device, if not, we might see at least different storage options. The device runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and will come with the stock Android UI. As seen with the Nokia 6, the Chinese variant of the Nokia 9 will come with a customized UI without Play Store and Google apps. The earlier leaked images suggest the device to feature glass back body with an Aluminum frame.
Talking about the cameras, the device will be coming with the dual camera setup on the rear. While the exact resolution of the two sensors is not yet known, we might see dual 13MP sensors. For selfies, the Nokia 9 sports another 13MP camera on the front. Unlike the many other major manufacturers, the Nokia still keeps the 3.5mm audio port on their upcoming flagship device; it is placed on the top edge. The USB Type-C port and loudspeaker can be spotted on the bottom edge. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge of the device.
Along with the Snapdragon 835 SoC, we also expect to see the Bluetooth 5 and Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology on the Nokia 9. There is a physical home button on the front that also houses the fingerprint sensor. There are two capacitive navigations on either side of the home button.
