Samsung’s on-screen Fingerprint scanner implementation is causing brightness issues

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Samsung is said to be working on a technology to implement on-screen fingerprint scanner. It is expected that the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phablet will sport this new technology. But if the rumors are to be believed, then it looks like the company is still having a hard time implementing the same. According to the new reports which we have, Samsung is said to be facing some new issues with implementing the on-screen fingerprint scanner. Apparently, the on-screen fingerprint scanner is said to be causing some sort of brightness issues with the display.

It has been reported that the area with the fingerprint scanner on the display is noticeably brighter than the rest of the display. Hence it looks like the technology won’t be ready until next year before it enters the mass production. Also considering the fact that Samsung is taking extra preventive measures against the explosions that occurred with the Galaxy Note 7, the on-screen fingerprint scanner seems to be the last thing to worry about. Having said that, it certainly looks like we won’t be seeing the on-screen fingerprint scanner with the Galaxy Note 8 and it is highly possible that it will be saved for the next Galaxy S smartphone i.e the Galaxy S9.

This essentially leaves us with only Apple to come up with a smartphone with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. The iPhone 8 has been rumored to ship an on-screen fingerprint scanner for a long time now and it would a disappointment if we don’t end up seeing that. On the other hand, even Vivo is expected to unveil a new smartphone with an on-screen fingerprint scanner leaving both Apple and Samsung behind. This alleged new device from Vivo is expected to make a debut as early as this month itself. However, at this point, not a lot of info is available to us about this new device.

With that said, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Do you think Samsung will manage to implement the on-screen fingerprint scanner with the Galaxy Note 8? Be sure to let us know what do you think about this by dropping a comment down below and also, stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more info like this.
