Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone

Sony always proved to be the best-in-class when it comes to the quality of the product. Same is with the Android phones; it has launched a wide variety of Android devices into the market, out of which few are quite awesome. Every smartphone lover wishes to use Sony devices at least once as they are equipped with high specifications and well-designed features.

From Xperia Z1 to Xperia Z5, Sony proved that it is never out of competition. In here, we are going to see the speed up techniques on your Sony Xperia Z3 phone using which the performance can be increased just in 5 minutes. It is the know fact that, every Android device starts performing slowly after using for few months and same is the case with Xperia Z3. But, by following few precautions and simple modification we can avoid the performance issue and we can easily gear up the device.

Download Latest Software

Sony Xperia Z3 comes packed with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and comes with the Kitkat and Lollipop Android OS version. The manufacturer will release the software updates for its devices at regular intervals, and the users need to be upgraded. So, all you need to do is, go and check for the updates available for your device under, ‘Settings>About Phone’.

If you find any update then just download and install it using the WiFi connection as the file will be large. Once done, the device becomes smoother than before as the updates always contain the fixes for the minor bugs and also has the enhancements which help the device to run faster.

Use Developer Options

The latest Android devices are very lucky than the old devices as the new ones are getting equipped with the latest features and options. One of such feature in the new devices is ‘Developer Options’, which can be enabled by tapping several times on ‘Build Number’ under ‘Settings>About Phone’. Once these options are enabled, you can be able to access various other options using which you can alter the settings of the device.

You can find the enabled developer options under ‘Settings>more’, and scroll down these options to find the animation settings. Now, change these settings to 0.5X or disable them completely for improving the performance of the phone. You can feel the difference in the performance of the phone right after disabling/reducing the animation settings.

Disable Live Wallpapers and Widgets

One of the main causes for the slower performance of your device is live wallpapers and widgets. Live wallpapers will slow down the functionality of the phone, and so we advise you to use the normal screensavers and wallpapers which add beauty to your device. Also, widgets could be dangerous sometimes as it will make your phone hang and also eats away most of your processor. So, we strongly advise you, not to use the widgets and if at all you are fond of using them, then limit the number of widgets to just one or two.

Uninstall Apps and Clear App Cache

The most important fact to know by every Android user is that their devices come packed with pre-installed apps out of which few may be bloatware. All the bloatware apps simply drain the battery and cause the performance issue in the device. So, first of all, you need to check the pre-installed apps on your device and whatever you find useless, then uninstall them immediately from the device. Also, there will be some apps downloaded by you from the play store which is unnecessary. So, uninstall those apps too from the device so that the storage space, as well as the functionality of the phone, gets improved.

Another fact to know about the apps is that every time you open an app, the cache gets stored in the background. So, all you need to do is to clear the cache of the apps whenever possible. Open each app under the ‘app manager’ and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ option to remove the cache of the apps. Now you can see the better performance of the device.

Wipe Cache Partition and Factory Reset

In the previous method, we have cleared the cache of the apps and not the entire device. In here, we try to clear all the cache from the device. So, while phone is still on, press power and volume up button for sometime. Now the screen gets blank and device vibrates indicating that wipe cache partition has done. So, release the keys and press power button to wake up the device.

Another way to speed up the performance of the device is by the factory reset and do remember to perform this task only when the device is extremely slow. Also, this will erase all the data on your device and so take the back up of the data before proceeding further. You can perform the factory reset of the phone by entering into the recovery mode. To get your phone into the recovery mode, you need to turn off the device and should hold the power button along with the Volume Down button for few seconds. Once you are in the recovery mode, you have to use volume buttons for navigation and power button for confirming the selection. So, now select and confirm the ‘Wipe data/factory reset’, after which go for ‘Reboot system Now’.

Other alternative to perform factory reset is by, tapping on ‘Settings>Backup & Restore>Factory Data Reset>Erase Phone’. That’s all; now your phone becomes brand new as all the data will be erased and you can see the change in performance of the device too.

Few Additional Tips

By following few other simple precautions, you can easily boost up your phone. Always remember to turn off the WiFi and Bluetooth connections on your phone also try to adjust the brightness and rotation of the screen manually instead of auto setting. Never perform multi-tasking on the phone by opening several apps at a time as it may hang the phone.
