Nextbit Robin with 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage Launched at Rs. 19,999

San Francisco based Nextbit, the creators of “cloud first” Android phone, has officially launched its smartphone “Nextbit Robin” today in India. The smartphone is already available in US market for approximately US $400. Founded by CEO Tom Moss and CTO Mike Chan — who worked at Google on the Android team, Nextbit Robin highlights their vision that smartphones should be simpler, leaner and smarter by harnessing the potential of cloud.

As announced earlier, San Francisco headquartered Nextbit Systems Inc has launched a new Android-powered smartphone called ‘Robin.’ This is the company that launched the real-time syncing and sharing app ‘Baton.’ As of now the app is limited for CyanogenMod device. The best part of the app is its ‘Pass’ feature, with this you can save the game at the current state and continue from there itself on another device. It also has backup and restore options for apps and data.

The Nextbit was founded in 2013 by former Google employees Mike Chan and Tom Moss. In August 2014, the company hired the former HTC design chief, Scott Croyle as the VP of design and product hinting about hardware products. The Robin will be the cloud-first smartphone with an internal storage of 32GB and the company also provides 100GB of cloud storage on their cloud server where your apps, photos and videos will be automatically stored.

Talking about the device specifications, it has 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display and under the hood is a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM. The single SIM device comes packed with a battery of 2,680mAh capacity and support Quick Charging. There is also a fingerprint sensor embedded into the power key on the right. Coming to the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a5MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

The device comes with dual speakers and dual amplifiers for better sound output. It supports 4G LTE along with other basic connectivity features like NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and GPS. The device will be coming as unlocked and includes nano SIM slot. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and comes with unlocked boat-loader, where you can root your device to install any kind of ROM that too with our loosing warranty. It is priced at Rs. 19,999 and is exclusively sold through Flipkart starting from May 30th.
