ZTE Axon 7 with 5.5″ 2K AMOLED Display & 6GB RAM Launched
The ZTE A2017 which was leaked earlier was expected to be the second generation device in the Axon series called as Axon 2, but today the company has officially launched the ZTE Axon 7 at an event in Beijing, China. The change in the naming may be to match up with other flagships like Samsung Galaxy S7 and Apple iPhone 7 features flagship specifications.
The Axon 7 is designed in collaboration BMW Design Work, it is built out of metal and comes with the dual front facing speakers as seen on ZTE Axon. Talking about the specifications of the device, it comes with a 2.5D 5.5-inch AMOLED display with QuadHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the Axon 7 is powered by Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU.
It features 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MiFavor 4.0 UI overlaid. The Axon 7 comes with a 20MP rear camera with dual LED flash and f/1.8 aperture. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens. There is a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device and support ZTEPay virtual payments.
It is backed by a 3,140mAh non-removable battery and support Quick Charging 3.0 for fast charging. It measures 154 x 77 x 9.8 mm and weighs 175 grams. The AK4961 and AK4490 chipsets provide the Hi-Fi 2.0 sound on the Axon 7. It comes with both GSM and CDMA support and offers 4G LTE. Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The volume rocker along with the power button are placed on the right edge of the device.
