ZUK Z2 with Snapdragon 820 SoC & 8MP Selfie Camera Listed on TENAA
ZUK will be launching its third smartphone ZUK Z2 on May 31st in China. After launching the ZUK Z1 last year, it was launched this month in India. In between, the company also launched the ZUK Z2 Pro with flagship specifications including 6GB of RAM. Just after the company has confirmed the launch of ZUK Z2, there are many rumors suggesting the device to launch with Exynos 8890 octa-core processor.
But later the company had posted the teaser image on Weibo confirming the device to be powered by Snapdragon chipset. Now the TENAA listing if the device mentioned the device to be powered by Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. This is the same processor that was also used in the ZUK Z2 Pro. The device comes with a metallic frame and 2.5D glass on front and back of the device,
The ZUK Z2 sports a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution while the ZUK Z2 Pro came with a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with the same resolution. It comes in two variants with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. There is no MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage on this device. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/GLONASS, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port.
On the camera front, it sports a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and also an 8MP selfie camera on the front. We expect these to be the same set of cameras as on Z2 Pro. It is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery that might support Quick Charge 3.0. Interestingly, the Z2 Pro with much larger battery comes only with 3,100mAh battery. The device includes dual SIM card slots and offers 4G LTE and VoLTE.
It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the customized ZUI 2.0 skin overlaid. As per the TENAA listing, the device comes only in White and Black color options. The physical home button on the device will also feature the fingerprint sensor. It measures 140.5 x 69 x 7.9 mm and weighs almost 150 grams. The official pricing and availability of the device will be announced on the launch day. Stay tuned for more updates!
