LG trademarks X5, might be a low-end variant of G5

LG launched the flagship G5 at the MWC 2016 event and is now gearing up to launch the smartphone in India on June 1st. The company has also recently released the slightly toned down variant of the G5 called as LG G5 SE in China. Now, it looks the brand is working on a new smartphone called as  “X5” and has already registered a trademark with the  Korean Intellectual Property Rights Authority (KIPRIS) confirming the existence of the device. The upcoming LG X5 will be the downgraded version of the LG G5 and will be available at a cheaper price tag.

The trademark was registered a couple of weeks ago, and the logo of the trademark is similar to the G5 with bigger “X ” accompanied with a smaller “5”.  Apart from the name, no other details about the upcoming device have been revealed by the company. It will be justified to wait for few more leaks and rumors to have a closer look at the specifications of the unannounced smartphone.

LG has already released two handsets under its X series called as LG X Cam & X Screen. The X Cam comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP + 5MP dual rear camera’s and 2520mAh battery. On the other hand, the X Screen comes with dual displays, a 4.93-inch HD screen and a 1.76-inch secondary ticker display. It comes with quad-core SoC, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera and 2300mAh battery.

Talking about the LG X5, the device if comes true will be a perfect alternative for the flagship G5 as it will come at a cut-down price. Let’s hope for the smatphone GFXBench and TENAA listing any time soon, that will reveal the most important details. Stay tuned for more updates in coming days!
