Sony Xperia X & Xperia XA with 5″ Display & Android 6.0 Marshmallow Launched in India
After opening the pre-registration for both Xperia X & Xperia XA, Sony India had officially launched both the devices today in the market. The devices are exclusively sold online through Amazon India and will be also available across the major retail stores and Sony retail outlets. The high-end Xperia X is priced at Rs. 46,990 while the Xperia XA costs Rs. 20,990. Though there are better alternatives at almost half of what these devices are costing, but they lack the same build quality as Xperia devices.
Sony Xperia XA
The Xperia XA is the most affordable device in the premium Xperia X series devices. It comes with a bezel-less 2.5D display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under hood, the device is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor and packs 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded additionally upto 200GB. It comes in White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold, and Rose Gold color options.
In the camera department, it has a 13MP Exmor RS sensor with Hybrid Auto Focus and an 8MP selfie camera with 88-degree wide-angle lens. It is backed by a 2,300mAh battery which the company claims to give two days of battery life. The Xperia XA measures 143.6 x 66.8 x 7.99 mm and weighs 137.4 grams.Apart from the volume rocker and power button, there is also a shutter button on the right edge of the device.
Sony Xperia X
The Xperia X is the flagship device for the company in India. It sports dual front facing speakers and the power button on the right edge comes integrated with fingerprint sensor. The device is powered by the 64-bit Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor. It is the same processor that was also used with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 priced at Rs. 9,999. The 5-inch display of Xperia X comes with the Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, the Xperia X comes with a 23MP Exmor RS sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture and hybrid autofocus. This device doens’t disappoint the selfie lovers with its 13MP front camera with the same f/2.0 aperture. It comes with slightly larger 2,620mAh battery and maintains better battery life with the Qnovo Adaptive Charging.
Both the devices comes with an all metal body and runs on latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Connectivity options on both the devices include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, and a MicroUSB port. The Xperia X will be available for sale starting from June 7th while the Xperia XA can be purchased from third week of June. With the every pre-order, the company is also offering Rs. 2,700 worth of premium content for free.
As of now there is information about when the Snapdragon 820 powered Xperia X Performance will be launched in India.
