ASUS ZenPad 8 & ZenPad 10 Tablets Launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Asus has recently released two new tablets in the Zenpad series called as Asus Zenpad 8.0 (Z380M) & Zenpad 10 (Z300M). Both the tablets are similar to the earlier launched Zenpads with the only major differences being the use of different processors and runs on latest Android version. Both the tablets offer budget specifications and will be targeted towards the entry-level to mid-range category users.

The Zenpad 8.0 features an 8-inch (1280×800 pixels) WXGA display with Asus Tru2Life Technology, and Corning Gorilla Glass laid on top for protection. On the other hand, the Zenpad 10.0 offers a slightly larger 10-inch (1280×800 pixels) WXGA display. Under the hood, the tablets pack MediaTek MT8163 64-bit quad-core processor clubbed with Mali-T720 GPU when compared to Intel Atom chipset that is used in most of the earlier launched Zenpads. Both the tablets sport a 5MP autofocus rear camera without LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera for video chats and selfie lovers.

The Zenpad 8 come in two different variants with 1GB/2GB of RAM & 8GB/16GB of onboard storage while the Zenpad 10 is available with 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of built-in storage options. The tablets also include a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 128GB. The devices arrive with basic connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and microUSB 2.0 port with OTG support. Unlike its predecessors, the tablets run on latest version of Android, i.e., Android 6.0 Marshmallow based ZenUI overlaid.

The Zenpad 8 comes backed by a 15.2Wh (approx 4000mAh) battery that promises to deliver upto 8 hours of mixed usage while the ZenPad 10 powers a larger 18Wh (approx 4750mAh) battery that can offer upto 11 hours of usage time. Both the tablets look similar design-wise and features DTS-HD Premium Sound technology for the quality sound experience. The Asus ZenPad 8 is expected to price starting from $178 while the Zenpad 10 will cost $223 and up. Stay tuned for official pricing and availability details in coming days.
