Xiaomi Redmi 3A with Snapdragon 435 SoC & 4100mAh Battery to Launch Soon
Xiaomi had already launched the Redmi 3 entry-level smartphone as the successor for the popular Redmi 2 in China. It is priced at just 699 Yuan and comes with a metal build body. Last month, the company also launched the Redmi 3 Pro at a slightly higher price of 899 Yuan. the device also features a fingerprint sensor. Now the company is rumored to launch the even more affordable Redmi 3A with few trimmed down specifications.
While the Redmi 3 and Redmi 3 Pro came with Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor, the Redmi 3A is rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor along wth Adreno 505 GPU. We expect the device to come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, same as Redmi 3. On the other hand, the Redmi 3 Pro came with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 out of the box.
There will be a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. We aren’t sure whether the company will include the fingerprint sensor on the Redmi 3A or not. It will come with dual SIM dual standby option and offers 4G LTE connectivity. While the Redmi 3 is priced at 699 Yuan, the Redmi 3A might bear a price tag of 599 Yuan. It will be available in Gold, Gray, and Silver color options.
The 4,100mAh battery might be also continued onto this device. Recently the company launched its biggest smartphone Mi Max with a screen size of 6.44-inches. It includes 4GB of RAM and comes in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants. The base variant of the device is powered by Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor while the high-end variant with 128GB storage packs Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor.
On the camera front, it sports a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP front camera with wide-angle lens. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device. It is kept powered on by a 4,850mAh battery that also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charging. Both the Redmi 3 and Mi Max are yet to launch in India while Xiaomi had sold more than 6,00,000 units of Redmi Note 3 in the first two months of weekly flash sales.
