ASUS Zenpad Z8 with Snapdragon 650 SoC & 2GB RAM to Launch Soon in the U.S
ASUS will be launching their flagship smartphones Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Max in the next few hours. But yesterday, the reliable leakster Evan Blass has revealed some details about the upcoming Zenpad Z8 tablet from the ASUS that will be launched with Verizon in the U.S. As the name suggests, the tablet comes with an 8-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution. Apart from few specifications, there is no information about the availability and the pricing of the tablet.
It will be powered by the Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor along wth Adreno 510 GPU. Xiaomi is the first smartphone to use this chipset, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 that was launched in March in India came with this chipset. Even one variant of the recently launched 6.44-inch Mi Max also uses the Snapdragon 650 processor. The Zenpad Z8 includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable via provided MicroSD card slot.
Talking about the camera, it comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 1.8MP selfie shooter on the front. The volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right edge of the tablet. From the image, we guess the Zenpad Z8 to sport the dual front facing speakers. A couple of weeks back, a new ASUS tablet with the model number with P027 was spotted on Geekbench. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with highly customized Zen UI laid on top.
It is powered by MediaTek MT8176 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz along with PowerVR GX6250 GPU. The ASUS P027 includes 2GB of RAM and remaining specifications not yet known. It had scored 1598 in single-core and 3892 on multi-core tests on Geekbench. Though there is no official confirmation from the company, we can expect some details about both these at the Computex 2016 event in the next few hours.
