BQ Aquaris X & Aquaris X Pro Smartphones with Snapdragon 626 SoC Launched

The Spanish smartphone manufacturer, BQ has launched its two latest smartphones called Aquaris X and Aquaris X Pro. Both the devices look same from the front, but on the rear, the Aquaris X uses plastic, whereas the Aquaris X Pro comes with glass. Though the glass back makes the device fingerprint magnet and slippery, it has the curved edges that give a nice grip to use with a single hand. It comes with a metallic frame around the device and sports a 2.5D glass on the front. Both the devices run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and offer stock Android experience without any customized UI.
The Aquaris X and Aquaris X Pro comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display offering 650 nits of brightness. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 506 GPU to look after the graphic intensive tasks. Talking about the major differences, the Aquaris X includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, whereas the Aquaris X Pro comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options. Both the devices also pack NXP TFA9896 amplifier, and the Aquaris X Pro additionally comes with a dedicated ESS9118 DAC for HiFi audio output.
There is a 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor with PDAF, 6P lens, f/2.0 aperture, and dual tone LED flash. This is the same sensor that is also used in the OnePlus 3T smartphone. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture that also comes with LED flash. While the rear camera can record 4K resolution videos at 30fps, the front camera supports up to Full HD resolution at 60fps. The Aquaris X and Aquaris X Pro supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for a MicroSD card (expandable up to 256GB) instead of the secondary SIM.
Both the devices are backed by a 3,100mAh battery non-rem0vable battery that also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. We can also a find a circular fingerprint sensor on the rear. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Galileo, NFC, 3.5mm Audio port, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. It also includes Hall Sensor, Accelerometer, eCompass, Gyroscope, and Proximity sensor. While the Aquaris X comes in Mineral Black and Pearl Rose color options, the Aquaris X Pro will be available in Midnight Black and Glaze White colors.
Both the devices measure 146.5 x 72.7 x 7.9 mm, but the Aquaris X Pro weighs 158 gram which is slightly heavier than the Aquaris X’s weight of 153 grams. The : 64GB (€ 359.90) and 128GB (€ 399.90). Aquaris X will come in the colors Mineral Black and Pearl Rose, The Aquaris X costs €279.90, whereas the Aquaris X Pro is priced at €359.90 and €399.90 for the 64GB and 128GB storage variants respectively. The Aquaris X will be available from the first week of May, whereas the Aquaris X Pro will be in stock starting the first week of June.
