At the MWC 2017, we see most of the flagship smartphone launches from all the major brands. Apart from the major manufacturers like Samsung, LG, and Sony; there are hundreds of other smaller manufacturers, and then we have the same number of Chinese manufacturers who displays prototype devices without any name or logos. They are called as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) who manufacturer devices for other smartphone brands. All the LYF smartphones are manufactured by OEMs from China like Haier and ZTE.
Now a new smartphone is on display at one of the booths whose manufacturer’s name is Xiaolajiao (Red Pepper), which many of you might have never listened. The company’s upcoming device is the iLA T1 which comes with decent mid-range specifications. However, the USP of the device is the ECG detection functionality. But the device is not only limited to that, it can also be used for measuring the alcohol content in the body along with heart rate, oxygen, blood pressure, UV, and also the body temperature.
Instead of launching as iLA T1 in the foreign countries, the company might be looking for other brands who can sell the same device with their name on it. Apart from these fancy features, the iLA T1 packs Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. This processor is built on a 14nm FinFET processor and is well known for its power efficiency without compromising on the performance. Talking about the other specifications, it sports a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and we can see thick bezels on all the four sides.
It includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that might not be further expandable. On the camera front, there is a 13MP PDAF rear camera with dual tone LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and is backed by a 3,420mAh non-removable battery. The physical home button on the front also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor for making the device secure. The device 160.7 x 77.5 x 10.4 mm and makes it feels bulky. The power button along with SIM card are on the right edge, whereas the volume rocker can be found on the left edge.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, W-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and USB Port. While other information is not available about the device, don’t be surprised to see a local brand launching the same device with their name on it. Alongside the iLA T1, the company also showcased the iLA X2, X1, E6, S5, and S6 smartphones. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more updates!
