Micromax Launches Canvas Mega 2 Plus with 6″ qHD Display & 3,000mAh Battery

The Indian smartphone manufacturers like Intex and Lava are launching few decent smartphones to compete with the Chinese brands. However, the largest Indian smartphone brand, Micromax has been silent for the last few quarters. A couple of days ago, we got some exclusive news about the launch of new 4G LTE enabled Bharath series smartphones that are said to cost around Rs. 3,500. While official announcement can be expected soon, but we don’t any information about the exact launch time. Recently, the company also launched the Canvas Mega 2 Plus as the successor to last year’s Canvas Mega 2.
The new Canvas Mega 2 Plus comes with the model number Q426+. It sports a textured finish back panel and includes entry-level specifications. On the front is a huge 6-inch IPS display but come with only qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz and comes coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and includes pre-installed bloatware apps which further decreases the available storage on this device.
It includes a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. In the camera department, there is an 8MP autofocus camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP fixed focus camera on the front for selfies and video calls. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for using the Canvas Mega 2 Plus with the Jio 4G SIM. Since the Jio’s Happy New Year offer ended on March 3rd, the users can’t get the unlimited 4G data, voice calls, and SMS for free with the device. However, they can subscribe for the Jio’s prime membership by paying Rs. 99 and get the similar benefits untill March 2018 for a monthly fee of Rs. 303.

As the device comes with basic specifications, it can easily last more than a day with the 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It also packs the Gravity, Proximity, and Light sensors. Micromax is also a screen guard for free within the package. The Canvas Mega 2 Plus is priced at Rs. 7,499 and comes only in Black color option.
