Nubia to Launch its First Dual-lens Camera Smartphone on March 21st

At the MWC 2017, we also expected Nubia to launch a new flagship smartphone, but the company came with an entry-level device called Nubia N1 Lite. It sports a 5.5-inch HD display, 2GB RAM, 8MP camera, and a 3,000mAh battery. Today, the company posted a teaser image which confirms the launch of a new smartphone on March 21st. From the image, we can also confirm the upcoming device to feature dual camera setup. While Huawei has been getting better and better with the dual camera setups, Xiaomi and Vivo also launched one smartphone each with the dual-lens camera. In the coming weeks, we will also see the smartphones from OPPO and LeEco to offer the same.
While there is no much information about the Nubia’s upcoming device, the company’s official accidentally displayed the smartphone in a live interview at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona. Though the design of the device isn’t clearly visible, the dual cameras are placed on the top-left of the device. Just beside the camera sensors, there is also dual tone LED flash. The case that covered the design of the device also had a small cutout just below the rear camera setup, and we don’t know what that might be for. The device might come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and will be running on the Android-based Nubia UI.
Last year, the company launched the flagship Nubia Z11 as the successor to the Nubia Z9. We have also seen the launch of Nubia Z11 Max and Nubia Z11 Mini. On the March 21st, we might be seeing the launch of the new flagship smartphone, Nubia Z12. The Nubia Z11 is exclusively sold through Amazon in India and is priced at Rs. 29,999. At this price, the device offers flagship specifications which we have seen on the premium smartphones. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
It sports a 16MP IMX298 sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture and OIS. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture and 80-degree wide angle lens. The device is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery offering 38 hours of talk time and lasts up to 8 hours on standby mode. Since the Snapdragon 835 SoC availability is delaying the launch of other flagship smartphone launches, we don’t know whether the upcoming Nubia smartphone will be featuring flagship Snapdragon 835 SoC or not.
