Samsung’s new trademark confirms ‘Infinity Display’ for the upcoming Galaxy S8
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus smartphones are almost here. We have a lot of info about these smartphones, in fact, we even have a couple of live images to confirm the existence and the design of the smartphones. However, this new report which we have today, confirms yet another interesting feature of the smartphone called the ‘Infinity Display.’ According to the source, the company has now filed a trademark for Infinity Display, which pretty much puts all the rumors to rest and confirms the same.
Samsung Galaxy S8’s display will be called Infinity Display and this is certainly not the first time that we are hearing about the terms. Previously a lot of rumors talked something about this and now that the same has been confirmed more or less since the company has filed a trademark. The trademark filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) however, gives us practically no info about the display whatsoever. Well, this makes sense since the company doesn’t want you to know anything about the device until it’s unpacked at the event in New York.
However, taking a look at some of the previous rumors and leaked images, we do see an edge-to-edge display and it is safe to say that the smartphones will come with a stunning display with an impressive screen-to-body ratio. The corners of the display are rounded off as well and this is something new and we have not seen anything like this from Samsung before. The removal of the home button from the front will also add to the seamless design language that Samsung is going for here.
Do make a note that both the S8 and the S8 Plus are expected to come with the Infinity Displays and hence we can hope to see the same edge-to-edge display on both the devices. Although we won’t be seeing the smartphones officially until March 29th when they get unpacked at the event in New York but that doesn’t stop us from tasting a couple of rumors right? Let us know which feature are you looking forward to the most from the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus and would you be interested in buying one. Also be sure to stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more details on the same.
