Google to Launch Pixel 2 & Pixel XL 2 Powered by Snapdragon 836 SoC on September 5th
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Yesterday, we have witnessed the launch of Galaxy Note 8 smartphone and by the month end, LG V30 will also go official. Both these new smartphone unveilings lead us to the launch of second-gen Google Pixel smartphones on September 5th. While there is no official confirmation, the information comes from the reliable leakster, Evan Blass. He also mentioned both the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 to use the Snapdragon 836 SoC which we expect it to be an upgraded chipset to the Snapdragon 835 SoC. Even last year’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones used the upgraded Snapdragon 821 SoC over the Snapdragon 820 SoC.
Just like the Snapdragon 835 SoC, the Snapdragon 836 SoC will be built on the 10nm architecture sporting eight Kryo 280 cores. It comes coupled with Adreno 540 GPU and Hexagon 682 DSP. The Snapdragon 836 SoC will support Bluetooth 5.0 and Gigabit LTE speeds. While both the Pixel and Pixel XL are manufactured by HTC, this year, LG will join alongside HTC to manufacture one of the two Pixel 2 devices. The recent leaks confirmed HTC to manufacture the Pixel 2 smartphone that comes with a 5-inch display along with edge sense like feature called Active Edge.
Google's second-generation Pixel handsets, powered by Snapdragon 836 SoC's, will be unveiled on October 5th.

Earlier this week, Google unveiled the Android 8.0 Oreo as the next big Android update to the Android OS. However, the leaked screenshot of the about page of Pixel 2 device confirmed it to run on Android 8.0.1 Oreo out of the box. The Pixel 2 comes with the model number G011A and sports 64 of internal storage. Unlike the Galaxy Note 8 or LG V30, there will be no 3.5mm audio jack on the Pixel 2 smartphone. Even the length of the glass-back portion is now decreased and the rear facing fingerprint sensor now sits on the metal back instead of the glass back.
While the world is moving towards the bezel-less and 18:9 displays, the Pixel 2 might still offer larger bezels and 16:9 aspect ratio. On the other hand, LG might introduce the 18:9 FulVision display with Quad HD+ resolution to the Pixel series with the Pixel XL 2 smartphone. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones.
