Panasonic’s New P77 4G VoLTE Smartphone Comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop in 2017
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Almost a year after launching the Panasonic P77 smartphone with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage in India, the company has launched the upgraded variant with doubled storage. The new Panasonic P77 comes with 16GB of internal storage and rest of the specifications remain same as on the last year’s variant. It comes with a polycarbonate shell and will be available in White and Gray color options. The 2017 variant of the Panasonic P77 is priced at Rs. 5,299 which is lower than the Rs. 6,990 price tag of last year’s variant.
Interestingly, the device also runs on the same Android 5.1 Lollipop and we don’t expect the company to release any software updates in the future. The Android Lollipop was first introduced in 2014 and last week, Google also released the all-new Android 8.0 Oreo. It sports a 5-inch IPS display and offers HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz. As said earlier, it packs 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
The Panasonic P77 supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE only on one SIM. In the camera department, the smartphone comes with an 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 2MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device is backed by a 2,000mAh battery that might not last more than a day of usage. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The Panasonic P77 measures 143 x 72 x 7.6 mm and weighs 126 grams.
It will be exclusively sold through Flipkart in India for Rs. 5,299. The power button and SIM card slot are on the right edge, while the volume rocker alone is placed on the left edge of the device. Earlier this month, Panasonic launched the Eluga A3 and Eluga A3 Pro in India through offline stores. Unlike the P77, the new Eluga smartphones come with metal body and are priced at Rs. 11,290, and Rs. 12,790 respectively. Both these devices run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and include in-house Arbo AI.
