Sony Xperia XZ1 Smartphone Running On Android 8.0 Oreo Spotted On GFXBench
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Sony is said to be working on a lot of new smartphones. Lately, we have been hearing a lot about the Xperia XZ1 and the Xperia XZ1 Compact. We have reported about both of them in past and by now, it must be very obvious that the company is indeed launching these devices very soon. However, adding on to that, we have yet another report which tells us that the smartphone could be running on the last version of Android i.e. Android 8.0 Oreo when it comes out later this year.
Just a few days from now, the devices will go official at IFA 2017 trade show, however, we have now spotted the smartphone on GFXBench website which is a benchmarking website. The listing shows some really important details about the device. According to the benchmark website listing, it looks like the smartphone will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Apart from that, it has also been revealed that the smartphone will be powered by a 2.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor. The name of the SoC is not revealed, however, we do believe that this could very well be the Snapdragon 835. It looks like this will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
While we don’t have any other info regarding this smartphone, it is at least good to learn that the device will indeed be running on the latest version of Android which was released last week. Also, it has been reported that Sony will most likely be launching a bunch of smartphones like the Xperia XZ1 Compact and the Xperia X1 as well. Unfortunately, we don’t have any other details about these devices, however, the least we can expect is that these smartphone could also be running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Talking about Android 8.0 Oreo, if you don’t know already, it is the latest version of Android which the company just released recently. As of now, the only new devices that are known to be launching with this new version of Android are the Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL 2. And now, we have this new GFXBench listing which states that the upcoming new smartphones from Sony could also be running on the same software. Having said that, be sure to let us know if you would be interested in buying any of these Sony smartphones or not.
