New Report Suggests That Pixel 2 XL Will Sport Small Bezels & Pixel 2 Will Retain last Year’s Design
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Google‘s upcoming Pixel smartphones are the next thing which most people are looking forward to. In fact, it looks like a lot of people are holding back on their purchase decision of buying a Galaxy Note 8, mainly because of all these smartphones launches that are lined up for the coming months. Talking about the launch of the Pixel 2 smartphones, it has been reported that it will happen in the month of October.
Well, so far we know pretty much everything about the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL, however, we have a new report which talks about the displays of these upcoming devices. Apparently, out of two Pixel smartphones, only one will sport a bezel-less display, whereas the other one is expected to retain the old design from the last year’s Pixel smartphones. Hence it looks like we will be seeing a significant design difference between the two Pixel smartphones this year.
It has been reported that the Pixel 2 XL will have a new design with comparatively less bezel surrounding the display. The regular Pixel 2 variant, on the other hand, will retain the last year’s design with a few minor differences. It has also been reported that HTC will be making the smaller Pixel 2, whereas the larger Pixel 2 XL will be made by LG. This pretty much explains the reason for the change in the design of both the devices. For reference, both of the last year’s Pixel smartphones were made by HTC.
In terms of the specifics, the Pixel 2 XL is said to feature a 5.99-inch display with 1440 resolution. It looks like this will be an OLED tall panel with slim bezels. The Pixel 2, on the other hand, is said to have a 4.97-inch 1080p OLED screen. However, this is expected to sport some huge bezels, just like the last year’s Pixel smartphones did. It has also been reported that both of them will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack as well. Some of the other key features are front facing dual speakers, always-on mode, squeezable display, etc.
Having said that, it certainly does looks like these two smartphones will have a lot to offer with the Pixel 2 XL being a slightly better offering in terms of the looks, etc. However, none of this info is officially confirmed yet and hence we suggest you stay tuned for the final announcement which is likely to happen in the month of October. Meanwhile, you can let us know which you would be interested in picking up and why?
