Gmail for Android now lets you send & receive money as attachments in the U.S & the U.K

Gmail for Android now has a new feature which lets you send, request and receive money for free as a Gmail attachment. While this feature is only available in the U.S and the U.K as of now, it is a good addition to the service. Previously, Gmail allowed sending money through Google Wallet. However, the feature was limited to the web version of the service. This is definitely a worthy addition since it is always good to have multiple options open.

This Google Wallet integration is probably the best thing to happen to Gmail in a long time since it makes up for an easy transaction on the go. Getting this done is also fairly simple. If you want to send money, then all you need to do is tap on the attachment button and click on Send money. At this point, Google WAallet will pop up and then you can simply enter the amount which you want to send and that’s it. The payment will now automatically be sent to the person whom you forwarded the mail and he/ she will receive it as an attachment.

On the other hand, if you want to receive the payments, then there are a ton of options to choose from here as well. While receiving payments, you can also tweak it to directly go to your bank account as well. So that way, even users who don’t generally use Gmail will also be able to receive or send the payments. However, do make a note th at all the users need be in the U.S in order for this to work. Hence there are certain limitations now and hence you might want to stick to the previous payment methods which you were using till now.

Talking about the payment method and payment transfer apps out there, we have a ton of options like Paypal, etc. They work just fine for the most part and don’t have any limitations as such. While this new integration in Gmail might have some restrictions as of now, it is safe to say that at least this feature exists and maybe we can expect them to roll out the same in other countries as well. But until then, you can use this as maybe a secondary option and you might want to stick to your regular old payment service.
