You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Samsung is hitting the news stands on a daily basis for the upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone. We have been seeing the countless number of leaks of the smartphone, and it doesn’t look like it will stop anytime soon. However, for a change, let’s now talk about some other smartphone from the South Korean tech giant. According to the new reports which we have, the company’s next smartphone running on in-house Tizen OS has just passed the FCC and it looks like it will hit the streets pretty soon.
If you have been living under a rock or in case you can’t recall what Tizen OS is, it Samsung’s own OS which is currently powering a number of devices including the company’s latest smartwatch the Gear S3 as well. If you want to know more about Gear S3, then be sure to read our full review here. Now coming back to the Tizen OS, last year Samsung launched the Z2 smartphone in the month of August and that was also running on Tizen OS. So it is not surprising to see the next iteration of the Z-series smartphone also to be powered by Tizen.
Taking a look at the FCC certification, we don’t have much info, however, this smartphone has a model number SM-Z400F which is likely to the Z4. It looks like this will be running on Tizen OS 3.0 version and if you dig deep through the FCC certification, then you will also find out that we may also get another variant of this device with Dual SIM capability (SM-Z400DS). The FCC label for the same is attached below for you check it out, in case if you are interested in it.
Shedding some light on the previously launched Z3 smartphone, it featured a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. It was powered by a Spreadtrum SC7730 SoC which has a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU & Mali-400 GPU for graphics processing. It also had 1GB of RAM along with 8GB of native internal storage. For optics, it had an 8MP rear facing camera and 5MP front facing shooter. It was running on Tizen 2.3 OS and was kept powered by a 2600mAh battery. Do make a note that Z2 launched after Z3 and it’s about time that we also see the Z4 and after this FCC certification, it certainly does look like we will be seeing it very soon.
