You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Earlier this month, Panasonic unveiled the new Eluga Pulse and Eluga Pulse X smartphones in the Indian market. The devices are priced at Rs. 9,690 and Rs. 10,990 respectively and comes with decent specifications. Though there are better alternatives available online, these devices are sold through offline stores where you won’t see Xiaomi and Motorola smartphones. This week, the company announced a new budget-friendly smartphone called as Panasonic Eluga Pure in Taiwan for NT$ 4,990 (approx $165 / Rs. 10,700). It comes in Gray color and sports a brushed finish polycarbonate body on the back and a 2.5D curved glass on the front.
It features a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and is said to lower the blue light that can be harmful to the user’s eyes. From the image, we can see thick bezels all around the display. The Eluga Pure is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz and includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The user can further expand the storage using the MicroSD card slot. With the Panasonic Smart App, the user can control the other Panasonic products like Smart TV, Refrigerator, Washing Machine, and more. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the FitHome UI laid on top.
The company claims the in-house UI to give better usability even with the single-hand usage. In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. On the bottom rear, we can find the loudspeaker with ‘Eluga’ logo on top of it. With all these specifications, the device comes backed by a 2,900mAh battery. We expect the device to last at least a day long of mixed usage. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device.
It is currently available to pre-order, and the shipping starts from March 27th. As of now, there is no information about the launch of Eluga Pure in other markets. A couple of years back, the company also launched the Eluga U2 smartphone in Taiwan. The device runs on FitHome UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and came with a 5-inch HD IPS display. It packs Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. There is a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a 2500mAh battery. It supports 4G LTE connectivity along with other basic connectivity options.
