The Chinese ODM manufacturer Topwise Communications will be entering the Indian smartphone market by launching the Comio branded smartphones. Last month, the company also announced August 18th as the launch date. Just a few days before the official launch, the Comio S1 and Comio P1 smartphones are leaked with few key specifications. The upcoming devices are said to be priced in between Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 12,000. They will be available through offline channels where the company faces stiff competition from established Chinese brands like OPPO, Vivo, and Gionee.
Another Chinese company, Transsion Holdings has already launched affordable smartphones under the Infinix and Tecno Mobiles brands. In the next few days, Transsion Holdings will be launching their third smartphone brand called VOTO. The Indian smartphone manufacturers like Micromax and Intex are already losing their market share to the Chinese brands. Talking about the Comio smartphones, the latest leak revealed both the devices to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. As seen with the other Chinese brands, the Comio branded smartphones also comes with customized UI laid on top.
In the camera department, the Comio S1 and Comio P1 sports the same 13MP shooter on the rear and an 8MP front camera for selfies. Additionally, the Comio S1 offers front facing LED flash for better selfies even in low light conditions. While there is no information about the RAM capacity, there will be 32GB of onboard storage on both the devices. The Comio P1 comes with a rear facing fingerprint sensor, whereas the Comio S1 features it on the front. From the images, the Comio S1 seems to come with premium looking metal-built unibody design.
The complete specifications along with the pricing and availability of the Comio S1 and Comio P1 smartphones will be known only on the launch, i.e., August 18th. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
