Gionee M2018 with 5.5″ Display & Dual Batteries Listed on TENAA

Last year, Gionee launched the M2017 smartphone with flagship specifications. It came with a metal and leather back body and sports curved display. Now the Gionee M2018 is listed on TENAA, and the design looks similar to its predecessor. However, the specifications of the device are yet to be added to the listing. Just like last year, the new Gionee M2018 might also come with high-level security features along with hardware-based encryption. It will be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based Amigo UI out of the box.

There is a physical home button on the front that comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor. On the right edge, we can spot the power button and volume rocker. The variant listed on TENAA sports a metal frame with leather on the rear. While the M2017 came with 7,000mAh (2 x 3,500mAh) battery, the M2018 might come with 6,000mAh (2 x 3,000mAh) battery. In the camera department, the M2018 sports a single camera on the rear. The earlier launched M2017 came with 12MP + 13MP dual sensors. The new M2018 measures 156 × 78 × 10.8 mm, which is almost same as M2017.

Talking about the specifications of the Gionee M2017, it came with a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display and is powered by Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor. It packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage without MicroSD card slot. The device skipped the 3.5mm audio jack and came with only USB Type-C port. The dual cameras on the rear also offer 2X lossless zoom as seen on iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera.
