Gionee X1 with 5″ HD Display to Launch in India on August 20th for Rs. 8,999

Earlier this year, Gionee introduced the selfie-centric Gionee A-series at the MWC 2017 by launching the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus smartphones. Now, the company is getting ready to unveil the all-new X-series by launching a new smartphone priced under Rs. 10,000. According to our source, Gionee will be launching the Gionee X1 smartphone in India on August 20th. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 8,999 and will be sold via offline stores across the country. The device comes with a metallic unibody design and 2.5D curved glass on the front.

It sports a 5-inch IPS in-cell display with HD (1280× 1720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and comes coupled with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. The smartphone packs 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated MicroSD card slot. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with the customized Amigo 4.0 UI laid on top. The device also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity for using with the Jio 4G SIM.

In terms of optics, there is an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and another 8MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras come accompanied with LED flash. The capacitive navigation buttons are placed on the front, and the fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that is mentioned to give 27 hours of talk time and lasts up to 209 hours on standby mode. The Gionee X1 also supports ultra fast charging that can fully charge the device in 125 minutes.

Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 144.3 x 72.2 x 8.8 mm and weighs 145 grams. The LED flash on the rear also features IR blaster for controlling the home electronics like TV and AC. It comes in Gold, Black, and Blue color options.
