Moto G5S & Moto G5S Plus Are Now Official, Offer Improved Cameras

After being in the rumors mills for quite some time, Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus smartphones today in the UK. As seen in the leaks, both the devices look similar to the already launched Moto G5 and G5 Plus. Just like the Moto G5 & G5 Plus, the Moto G5S & G5S Plus also offer metal body with rounded corners. Both the new devices come with slightly bigger form factor featuring bigger battery capacities. The smartphones run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with minor tweaks to the stock UI.
Moto G5S
The new Moto G5S sports a bigger 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display compared to the 5-inch Full HD on the Moto G5. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that can be further expandable via a MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, the Moto G5S comes with a 16MP rear camera with improved autofocus. The 5MP wide-angle front camera now comes accompanied with LED flash. The Moto G5S is now backed by a bigger 3,000mAh battery and supports TurboPower fast charging technology. All these upgrades make the Moto G5S to costs EUR 249 in the UK.
Moto G5S Plus
The 5.2-inch display on the Moto G5 Plus is bumped up to 5.5-inches on the Moto G5S Plus but still offers the same Full HD resolution. On the rear, we can find the 13MP dual rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture, and dual tone LED flash. It comes with video stabilization and can record videos at 4K Ultra HD resolution at 30 fps. Just like the Moto G5S, the 8MP front facing camera on the Moto G5S Plus also offers LED flash. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor and will be available in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage options. The Moto G5S Plus is also backed by the same 3,000mAh battery with TurboPower fast charging. It is priced at EUR 299 and will go on sale later this month.
