Samsung has officially unveiled the long-rumored Galaxy Note 8 at the Unpacked event held today in New York. The company is offering the best possible features on any smartphone with this all-new Galaxy Note 8. After the Galaxy Note 7 disaster, the Galaxy Note 8 will surely be the best thing to be offered to those who love the smartphones with large displays. On the design front, the Galaxy Note 8 looks similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, but without losing the popular Galaxy Note features. The S Pen on the Galaxy Note devices also brings a ton of additional features, the new Galaxy Note 8 additionally got the in-house Bixby AI and DeX station support.
It comes with an Aluminum frame with curved glass on the front and rear. The device sports a large 6.3-inch Super AMOLED infinity display that offers Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) resolution with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. While the U.S and Korean markets get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 powered Galaxy Note 8, the Asian and European markets will get the in-house Exynos 8895 backed device. There is 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with 64GB, 128GB, 256GB storage options. It also offers a hybrid SIM slot where the user can add up to 256GB MicroSD card instead of the secondary SIM. The fingerprint sensor is still placed on the rear of the device that might be even more difficult to reach than on the Galaxy S8 devices.
With the IP68 certification, the device is also water and dust resistant. Samsung has finally brought a major update to its primary camera with the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone. It is the first Samsung smartphone to feature dual camera setup. It got a 12MP standard sensor along with 12MP wide-angle sensor. The device offers dual OIS, f/1.7 aperture, dual tone LED flash, 2X optical zoom, and up to 10X digital zoom. For selfies, there is an 8MP auto focus front facing camera with f/1.7 aperture as seen on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. It runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
Coming to the battery life, there is a 3,300mAh non-removable battery that supports fast charging via wired and wireless charging.
